I'm Chris and my family and I own, raise, train, show and sell Percheron Draft Horses
that typically weight right around a ton, hence the blog title.
This blog mostly will contain current events in my life long adventure with horses.
It can sometimes be a bumpy road but the joys far out weight the heartache that comes
with the territory of owning horses.
We are pretty mainstream. We recently moved to the Eastern Tennesse area and enjoy spending our time participating in
shows, parades and other horsey events.
Our farm site is
Whispering
Meadows Percherons. Like all things in our life, it's a work in progress.
Enjoy your visit.

I've found that Aimee (my now retired Percheron mare... I'm only using her for light hacks... her ongoing hoof problem has finally started to take a toll on her endurance) is fearless, cool-headed, totally calm and composed on trail rides, except for bridges, she loses all her poise at the thought of crossing a bridge alone, however she'll follow anyone else over, she just won't go first. Alise has never been a good riding (or driving) horse... she's too spooky... but she sure is beautiful and she's excellent as a leadline "pony" (at 17hh, she's hardly a pony!) go figure!
Sounds like y'all had a wonderful ride... I wish I knew more people that rode around here (that weren't the "giddy-up cowboy" type)... oh well... can't have everything!
