I'm Chris and my family and I own, raise, train, show and sell Percheron Draft Horses
that typically weight right around a ton, hence the blog title.
This blog mostly will contain current events in my life long adventure with horses.
It can sometimes be a bumpy road but the joys far out weight the heartache that comes
with the territory of owning horses.
We are pretty mainstream. We recently moved to the Eastern Tennesse area and enjoy spending our time participating in
shows, parades and other horsey events.
Our farm site is
Whispering
Meadows Percherons. Like all things in our life, it's a work in progress.
Enjoy your visit.

No buggy ride would be complete without an economy sized box of poop bags. You did remember to pack your horsey poop bags, right?
I'm loving your horses. Beautiful!
Happy WW!
looks so regal--happy ww!
Oh I love horses--I got one every Christmas morning from my father. The "invisible horse" joke got old after eh, about 11 years, lol!
Happy WW ~Stacey
Those are so beautiful!
I love horses and buggy rides! Good picture!
What beauties!
I love the title of your blog. Understated humor.
And I am partial to farms. I grew up in farm country, and the whole issue of agriculture is very dear to my heart.
What do you think of Wendell Berry?
Awesome horses!
I'd love to see a larger version of that shot.
what a beauty!
THE SIMPLE TIMES IN LIFE
They are just majestic!
those horses are gorgeous and the background is lovely. i want to go for a carriage ride!
makes you want to live in the days of anne of green gables and go around in carriages with warm blankets over you. what a way to end a day. :)
happy ww!
Such beauty in these powerful creatures:-). Have a great day!
Beautiful horses, makes me wish I'd spent more time with horses years ago.
Barkat, I dont know any works of Berry's but I do love the English Vet and Author James Herriot. I identify with his way of life and rural environment.
Thank you all for visiting my site and I hope that you enjoy the info and horse pictures. I'm happy to be able to share them with anyone that is interested.
I'll have to get a picture of the "bun bags" we use just for you Ms. Elastic. Its super duty sized and it attaches to the harness to keep from letting horsy exhaust hit the road when we are amongst the city folk. Here in the country we just let it fertilize anything it comes in contact with.
That is a very nice picture, the horses are gorgeous.
Wow - very pretty!
Any time there are pictures of horses, I love it.
Stunning animals! Beautiful!!
I understand what you mean by the heartache and joy..
Happy WW :)
