I'm Chris and my family and I own, raise, train, show and sell Percheron Draft Horses
that typically weight right around a ton, hence the blog title.
This blog mostly will contain current events in my life long adventure with horses.
It can sometimes be a bumpy road but the joys far out weight the heartache that comes
with the territory of owning horses.
We are pretty mainstream. We recently moved to the Eastern Tennesse area and enjoy spending our time participating in
shows, parades and other horsey events.
Our farm site is
Whispering
Meadows Percherons. Like all things in our life, it's a work in progress.
Enjoy your visit.

I ACTUALLY HAVE MORE OF A QUESTION THAN A COMMENT. SINCE YOU BREED & RAISE PERCHERONS I FIGURED YOU BE THE ONE TO ASK. I AM AN AREA REPRESENTATIVE FOR PMU FOAL ADOPTION NETWORK (FANI) & WE HAVE A YAHOO E-MAIL GROUP. GETTING TO THE POINT, WE HAVE A PARTY WHO IS INTERESTED IN ADOPTING BUT HER FAVORITE DISCIPLINE IS HUNTER/JUMPER. NOW I KNOW I'VE HEARD OF PERCHERON/CROSS BREEDS JUMPING BUT I WASN'T SURE ABOUT A FULL PERCHERON JUMPING. WHAT DO YOU THINK? I DON'T WANT TO HAVE ANYONE MISLEAD & IT COME BACK NEGATIVELY ON SUCH A POSITIVE RESCUE ORGANIZATION SO I THOUGHT I SHOULD LOOK OUTSIDE OF THE GROUP FOR ANOTHER KNOWLEGABLE OPINION. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME!! MELISSA P. darbywesner@yahoo.com
